This journal hosts the weekly mini-game invented by gravityrulz called "GRAB THAT LOST ICON" for fellow fans of the ABC hit drama series Lost.


MECHANICS OF THE GAME:

- A theme is prepared every week and icons are made in advance.

- Each customized icon that will be up for grabs will have the word "name" on it. This will only be replaced with an actual name once it's been grabbed.

Sample:


- If an icon has been grabbed, the word "TAKEN" will be stamped across the icon. If you see this, it means that particular icon is no longer available for grabbing.

- Sometimes it takes me a day or two to update the week's grabbed icons. So be sure to scroll through the comments to see if the icon you want has already been grabbed by somebody else.

- You may grab ONLY ONE icon for that week.

- Icons can NOT be returned once they have been e-mailed to you.

- If you successfully grabbed an icon this week, you can still grab another icon the following week...and the week after that...and the week after that...

- Absolutely NO RESERVATIONS of icons. We follow the "first come, first served" policy.

- If you failed in grabbing an icon this week, fear not. There's always the following week to try out your luck once again.

- Icons that were not grabbed the week before will be "recycled" and be made available for grabs again the following week. If 4 weeks has passed and nobody claims the recycled icons, they will be trashed for good.

- New installments of the game will be uploaded on weekends.


HOW TO GRAB AN ICON:

See an icon you want? Leave a comment in that week's post with the following...
1. The name you want to appear in the icon.

2. Your email address. Why this? So only YOU can have that icon, and it deters hotlinking which causes my bandwidth to exceed.

3. The icon you want to grab. Be sure you make a clear reference to it. Include the caption found inside the icon so it'll be easy for me to refer to it.


NOTE:

Rules may change depending on how the game develops, and how its participants react with each other. Any alterations in the above-mentioned rules will be announced publicly on this journal under the tag "announcements".

Dear Lost Icon Grabbers,


I really miss you all. I'm doing the best I can but somehow, I just can't find the time to make icons anymore. Don't you worry, I'll make a comeback whenever I get the chance to do so.

I'm praying this will not be permanent...but in the meantime, Grab That Lost Icon will be closed for a month starting from this week (although it's been closed since two weeks ago). Same reason: work overload.

Dear Lost Icon Grabbers,


I deeply apologize for making to make another sad announcement such as this...but it must be done.

My workload has not lighten over the past couple of days. In fact, it has gotten much worse than the week before. Due to this, I have not been able to edit grabbed (past) icons...let alone create new ones for the still-have-yet-to-be-posted Boone/Jin collection.

Very, very sorry but I'm afraid I can no longer make a promise saying when the next set of icons will be up for grabs. You will be notified for sure once I find the time (even if just a tiny bit of free time) to prepare these icons.

To those who went back to last two weeks ago's "un-grabbed" icons and grabbed them...I'm afraid I can't give those out just yet because I'm not using the computer I saved the icons in, and have no more time to go back online after this.

Dear Lost Icon Grabbers,


Due to the extreme amounts of work I have to deal with in real life, I'm afraid this week's Grab That Lost Icon will have to be postponed until the week after.

I deeply apologize for this inconvenience but...*shrug*...that's what happens when real life conflicts with LJ life.

I will make it up to you somehow in the near future. Please do not hate me for this (especially the Boone and Jin fans out there).

To those who grabbed an icon last week but I still haven't email it to you yet, please drop me a line here so I'll be reminded of it. I'll get back to you as soon as I get the chance to go online again and check my email inbox.

Dear fans and visitors,

I would like to apologize in advance regarding the delay in holding our weekly played icon game, "Grab That Lost Icon". Due to work overload this week (I was in the office for more than 24 hours yesterday and have not gone home yet), I was not able to prepare in time for this weekend's set of icons up for grabs.

Those who will be most affected by this delay are my fans because they were promised a one-day head start on these icons. Since I cannot change that to a half-day head start for it will be very much unfair for them, I will have to delay the public post as well.

Just to let you know, the Sawyer icons are all ready but I still haven't started on the Charlie ones.

Please do not hate me for this and I appreciate your patience.

I was supposed to be working on some office work but you know what? The work that I was supposed to bring home...yeah, well...I left it in the office. So rather than spending my Sunday night doing last minute office work, I decided to go icon-making crazy instead. *whoot* Here are the results:

Some icons from 2.12 Fire + Water, some from 2.13 The Long Con, and a whole lot of icons from 2.14 One of Them...all because of my Sayid-love.

Also, I wanna add that I love Naveen Andrews (and I really do!)...but MAN!!! ...his uber curly hair is SOOOOOO FRIGGIN DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH. It drives me insane sometimes when I make icons with his wild and curly hair 'coz I'm quite obssessive compulsive with creating icons and I always want to make them perfect. But when I have to work around Naveen's hair...GAAAAH!!! It's crazy and sometimes very difficult. *bawls* ...but I still love you, Naveen.

Another thing: I dunno why, but I always associate Sayid with the colour green. *shrug* They look good together.
